Our Diaper Bag

Happy Tuesday!
So far we are having a great summer. We are loving our sweet new Barker Hayes. Daddy is as busy as always preparing for football season. In a little less than ten days we are heading to the beach.

When I was about 7 months pregnant with H I realized I hadn't even thought about his diaper bag. When I started looking for one I realized there are TONS of cute girl bags and pretty much nothing for boys. With a toddler and a baby I knew I wouldn't have any free hands for any of my own things when we go out. So of course I wanted something that looked less like a diaper bag and more like a regular bag. That's when I found the skip hop diaper bag.

We have loved it! It's got plenty of room for diapers for Hayes, toys for Addie Rivers and still space for my things.
It has a couple of little "bottle pockets" but because we don't normally use bottles I use them for makeup. Yes seriously I now longer have to take a purse and a diaper bag. I know this bag will be used a ton! Even after H is our of diapers :)

We got our skip hop bag from babies R us. They also carry it at Pottery Barn, skip hop.com, and amazon

Monday's OOTD

These days I'm all about comfort. Chasing around a two year old gets pretty crazy. In a week I'll be chasing around a two year old and trying to keep up with a non scheduled newborn. Yikes! My favorite thing this spring is florals! (Our floral Wild Rivers headbands are our biggest hit these days!) but I won't lie, being pregnant and then having a post baby body I'm all about black. It makes us look more slim right?
My favorite comfy dress is a black piko dress, a wild rivers knotted headband, big sunglasses and an oversized purse ( they are the best when you have little babes!)
Maybe no one will notice how exhausted I am if I keep my big sunglasses on 24/7!

Wild Rivers Update

First off I just want to say that I am so thankful how much support I've gotten since starting our "Wild Rivers" Etsy shop. I've had so many amazing customers! If you aren't familiar with what it is I'll give ya a brief rundown. I started making headbands/accessories for Addie Rivers. I had a friend of mine ask to make some for them and It somehow turned into an Etsy shop! I absolutely love finding and picking out new designs and fabric. So when I'm not running around like crazy chasing our two year old you can fine me creating new Wild Rivers accessories.

Post Baby

As we are nearing the end of this pregnancy my mind has been in complete baby mode. We have everything ready for our sweet little man who will be here in 9 days. Ah!
One thing I am currently obsessed with is a maxi dress.
With my last pregnancy I thought I would be wearing my size two jeans the next week. Ha yeah right!
One thing I have loved having in my closet during pregnancy is a good maxi dress. They are so easy to throw on and comfortable. Whether it's casual or a little more dressy you can never go wrong with a few maxi dresses! So mama's (and non mamas :)) remember that when your struggling to find something comfortable to wear. They are perfect not only during pregnancy but also for the first few weeks (or months) after!

Pregnancy and Newborn Magazine- Healthy on the go snack options

Happy Monday!

This week over at Pregnancy Newborn Magazine I'm blogging about some of my favorite, easy snack options for mama's and their babes while on the go!

"Everyday there is something we have to leave the house for at least a couple of hours—whether it’s for school, the grocery store or a doctor’s appointment. When the hunger during pregnancy hits, it’s completely different. If you are around us and it hits, you might as well just run—or better yet run to find food. A couple of weeks ago I was at my weekly doctor’s appointment (and was there for more than three hours) with a cranky 2-year-old who needed a nap. What was the one thing I forgot to pack? Yep, a snack. I packed Addie Rivers a cup of cheerios, and I won’t lie. I was sneaking cheerios out of that little cup. I know the people in the waiting room must have thought I was insane."

So just head on over to Pregnancy and Newborn Magazine and check it out!

Bump Update

Hello third trimester!
It's crazy how fast this pregnancy has gone by. It seems like yesterday we found out. In only ten weeks we will be meeting out sweet baby Hayes! Big sister is BEYOND ready for him to be here. She is going to "share her princess toys with him." It makes me giggle but hey at least she's got the sharing thing down pat. In her mind he will be joining us ready to run around and play.
Tomorrow we will be 29 weeks. Seriously 29 ``1qswsxccvg(a few words from Addie Rivers)

About a month and a half ago I decided to open an Etsy Shop selling accessories for littles. But to be honest they are completely great for mamas too! I've gotten just as many orders for adult sizes as I have kids and it is for sure an item I will be packing in my hospital bag.
Next weekend is our baby shower and I can't wait. I will admit I have two pretty great friends who decided they wanted to throw us a shower. SO Thankful

Gender: Baby boy!

Total weight gain: about 16-17 pounds which is SO much better than with AR. The day I had her at 39 weeks i had gained about 40 pounds or a little more. I know this is completely normal for some people but just imagine that on a 5'2 girl. Someone even asked if I was having twins. My doctor said 25-30 pounds would be a good goal. So far so good!

Sleep: I'm actually sleeping great. I went through a small phase where I wasn't sleeping much but that didn't last too long.

Miss anything: A glass of wine would be nice. For now my wine glasses are being filled with sparkling water. It makes me feel a little more fancy!

Maternity Clothes:yep. all day everyday. I pretty much live in yoga pants and sweatshirts at this point. Let's face it being cold and pregnant is a great excuse for not getting dressed most days.

Cravings:Strangely I haven't had many cravings at all this pregnancy. With AR it was ice cream daily. If I had to guess that is where the 40+ pounds came from :/

Symptoms: Having lots of Braxton Hicks! I don't really remember having these at all last time. And I haven't gotten the crazy line on my belly this time.

Exercise: Just walking about two miles about five times a week. I ran until five months. Also doing a little pregnancy workout about three days a week.(When no one is home. Barrett would get a kick out of watching that!)

Baby Love

Over the past few weeks it has really hit us. We are about to be parents to three children. Right now it's so easy to load Addie Rivers in the car and make a quick trip to the store. I just keep thinking, " How am I going to do that with two." A newborn and a two year old. Then I realize that people do it every day with 2+ kids! A little bit of relief :)
We have completely redone our house in the past two weeks. Painted the kids rooms and switched our living room and dinning room. Talk about some serious nesting!

We have been talking to Addie Rivers about how she is the big girl now. We even moved her to a big girl bed. (which is going great!)
But one day last week she decided she was not ready to be the big girl. Our completely potty trained two year old is now wearing pull-ups full time and is refusing to let go of the paci's.
It seriously frustrated me the first few days until I realized how huge it is. She has been the baby for two years. 90% of the time she is just with mom and dad. She has been the "big girl" (except for those darn paci's) for a long time. The first time she used the potty is because she told us she wanted to. We never had one issue with it. She has basically been talking in full sentences since the day she was born.
So for right now we aren't pushing the potty and we are still letting her have paci's in bed.
In 12 weeks she will no longer be the baby and she obviously knows it. For right now I'm going to hold her as much as she wants, rock her and sit on the floor for two hours playing with the dollhouse. 12 weeks and she will be sharing my attention. I just want to bottle these little moments up and keep her my baby forever
