The Mom Accessory

I'm getting a few crazy looks these days. If you see me you will probably see me wearing a scarf. Yeah you read that right. About 75% of the time I'm wearing an infinity scarf. I know it's 1,000 degrees everyday!
This scarf actually serves a good purpose. It's really a nursing cover. I never wanted to nurse in public. It made me totally paranoid. One weekend Barrett, Addie Rivers, Hayes and I went out to lunch. I thought I had timed it to where Hayes wouldn't need to nurse until we got back home but seriously who was I kidding. Every mom knows with a nursing new born there is no set schedule. He usually goes 2-3 hours in between but we have those days where he doesn't.
After a few minutes of trying to get him to calm down I just said forget it. I have a nursing cover and there is no problem with feeding him in public! All it took was one time and now I am completely comfortable nursing him in public (with a cover!)

If you are searching for a cute nursing cover you can wear as an accessory you should check out Covered Goods. They have adorable covers that can also be used as car seat covers, buggy covers, and a scarf.

One of our most popular items on our Wild Rivers Etsy page is our Mom and Mini headbands.
I got the idea one morning when I was making head bands and tried one on and also put one on Addie Rivers. "Mommy we match!" She said when she looked over at me. Yes that's it! Mommy and Me matching sets! Head over to our Etsy page to check it out!! They come in all different sizes. Don't forget you can always send us a email for custom orders!

Baby Wearing

If you would have asked me 6 months ago if I would use a baby wrap I would have probably looked at you like you were crazy. Why do you need to wear your baby when you have 50 baby seats, a car seat, a crib and two arms. All it took was about two hours of my toddler wanting to play palace pets and a cranky two month old who didn't want to be put down. My arms were dead. About 30 minutes later I loaded the kids up and we were searching for a baby wrap. The only one I found was a Baby K'Tan. Why not give it a shot. As soon as we got home I put Hayes in it. Not even two minutes later he was snoozing and we never looked back. Completely in love with out Baby K'Tan!! It's not a regular wrap. It actually requires no wrapping. It comes in different sizes and colors. If you are looking for a wrap I highly recommend this one!

And they are "daddy friendly" although my husband says you couldn't pay him to wear it ;)

Our Diaper Bag

Happy Tuesday!
So far we are having a great summer. We are loving our sweet new Barker Hayes. Daddy is as busy as always preparing for football season. In a little less than ten days we are heading to the beach.

When I was about 7 months pregnant with H I realized I hadn't even thought about his diaper bag. When I started looking for one I realized there are TONS of cute girl bags and pretty much nothing for boys. With a toddler and a baby I knew I wouldn't have any free hands for any of my own things when we go out. So of course I wanted something that looked less like a diaper bag and more like a regular bag. That's when I found the skip hop diaper bag.

We have loved it! It's got plenty of room for diapers for Hayes, toys for Addie Rivers and still space for my things.
It has a couple of little "bottle pockets" but because we don't normally use bottles I use them for makeup. Yes seriously I now longer have to take a purse and a diaper bag. I know this bag will be used a ton! Even after H is our of diapers :)

We got our skip hop bag from babies R us. They also carry it at Pottery Barn, skip hop.com, and amazon
