Diaper Bags for the Stylish Mama

Hey Guys, Happy Tuesday!

If you have been following along on my instagram then you have seen a few of my post where I talk about a huge surprise coming on August the 26th. I seriously can't wait to share what is going on!

Mark your calendars for that date and be sure to follow along on instagram and snapchat (ryanndonahoe) so you can see up close and personal before it goes live!

If you are like me and love stylish bags then this post is for you. I recently teamed up with The Baby Cubby to write a post about our favorite diaper bag and give you a sneak peak at what's inside.

Nothing irritates me more than carrying around a dorky diaper bag when I'm in my "cute" attire. It just completely throws of my look!

This J.J Cole bag is the PERFECT bag, not only does it look great but it also works wonders as a diaper bag. It has several comparments for all of you and your babes belongings. It comes complete with a changing pad plus stroller handles which is genius!

Do you ever travel with a stroller and find yourself trying to stuff your bag underneath it or even holding it on your shoulder the entire time? Well it has happened to me on several occasions.

A few weeks ago I started working a couple of days a week and it has been great! My kiddos go to daycare on those two days, and we bring in bulk diapers and wipes so on the days they go all I'm packing is a lunch, and nap time needs. I pack all of that together in a small bag and I'm actually using my diaper bag for myself on the days that I work- shhh don't tell :)

BE sure to check out the baby cubby for all of your babes needs from bags to toys!

Here  is where you can go to see all that The Baby Cubby has to offer for yourself!

Honey Hive Five- Our go to bag

Happy Friday guys!

So the blog is looking a little different these days which I'm sure you have noticed. We have made some big changed for wild rivers.co- it is now our main sight for all things Wild Rivers.

Today I wanted to share with you our FAV bag for all of our essential oils. I have posted before about our love for these babies. We honestly couldn't live with our our EO's.

This bag looks like a regular small bag you would us for things like makeup, jewelry, etc. but what I love about it is there are actually  like sections to hold your oils. Genius!

Before our Honey Hive Five bag i was using a small Vera Bradley bag that I've had for years to carry my oils on the go. It wasn't ideal but did the trick but this bag is a game changer!

I've teamed up with the awesome creator to bring my readers a coupon code to get your own! use code RIVERS10 for 10% off of yours!

Beauty Box 5

  Hey guys!
Whew! Talk about one tired mama. This new schedule of getting Addie Rivers to school at 7:45 is wearing me out. Most mornings she isn't a little ray of sunshine. Thank goodness for coffee!
Another thing that's been going on since we made the move is all of our "fun mail" we are receiving. If you follow me on Instagram or Snapchat I'm sure you have seen! My first fix from Stich fix arrived this morning. I was more than pleased! And like always I'm getting off track.
I wanted to let you guys know about the awesome subscription box I received. Beauty Box 5! This was probably my most exciting fun mail yet. March months box ended up having something for both AR and me!
If you haven't heard of Beauty Box five it's a monthly subscription box. They send you five sample items to try out. Plus AR loved the bonus we got in ours.
 It included
  •  Colour Me- Sky Blue Fragrance
  • Mai Couture- blush and highlight papiers
  • PurLisse- blue lotus 4 in 1 eye adore serum
  • Glamour Dolls- Spring Makeup collection
  • Personail- custom floral nail polish wraps
Okay I am in love with the eye adore serum! I have used it the past week and can tell such a difference. And noticed a little goes a very long way. Also the blush and highlight from Mai Couture-http://bit.ly/1oJiEfG this is perfect to throw in the purse or the diaper bag. So when you are out and about you don't have to worry about bringing your entire makeup bag. I mean seriously with two kids who has time to reapply makeup in public. Not this girl!
Addie Rivers had a blast with the nail polish wraps and the bonus. Which was a washable flower tattoo. ADORBS.
I know we will be so excited to see the mail man bring our April Beauty Box five box!
What are your favorite subscription boxes!?

Coconut Blueberry Muffins

"Coconut Blueberry Muffins"

  Happy Friday!
My goodness I'm so pumped it's the weekend. This Saturday my husband has promised me he will get up with the kids and I can sleep in! Ahh that's seriously the best thing EVER.
Yesterday the kiddos and I made our yummy coconut blueberry muffins. These are made with coconut flour and coconut sugar so it eases this mamas mind when my 11 month old wants to eat three. His favorite food is a blueberry muffin.
I like to think that we eat heathy all of the time but who am I kidding. We don't! We definitely try but it doesn't always happen.
So go ahead and try these for your Saturday morning breakfast! They are a favorite in our house!
  Recipe
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil, melted
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons coconut milk
  • 1/2 cup coconut sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/4 cup sifted coconut flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup frozen blueberries
Bake at 400 for 15 minutes! Makes 6 muffins

Freshly Picked Moccasins

Hi there! I hope you guys are all having a fabulous Tuesday!
Addie rivers had her first day at her new school and she loved it! She fell asleep .2 seconds after they put her in the car.

If you saw my Instagram post yesterday you got a glimpse of our fun mail. I was so excited to get our Freshley Picked moccasins in! I have been dying to get Hayes a pair of baby mocs since he was born and I just want to know why it took me so long to finally order.  These are the perfect mix of cuteness and quality.

Hayes has had them on for the past two days and we have had zero issues with them coming off. He is wearing them like a champ! We decided to go with the royal blue to match daddy's football team colors. I can just picture him now in a tiny jersey and his moccasins. HOLY CUTENESS.

Now that Hayes is crawling everywhere. 24/7. I wanted to get him use to wearing shoes because he is so close to walking. These are perfect for my climbing little monkey. The soft soles make it easy for learning to walk in shoes. I don't think he even notices they are on! Thank goodness, he looks so cute in them because I actually might make him wear them all day/everyday.

Do yourself a favor and go get your little a pair of Freshly Picked! You won't regret it.

Be sure to check back on my instagram for a giveaway this  Friday- because one of you will get your own pair of soft sole Freshly Picked Moccasins!

Our Teething Baby Remedies

Happy Monday!

We are slowly but surely getting settled into our new home. We are honestly loving the small town feel! Our first weekend here we had so many people bring things over to welcome us and that made my heart so happy.
Other than being exhausted from unpacking we are exhausted from this teething baby we have had.

Poor Hayes just can't seem to get it together with his teeth! And who can blame him? Seriously that must be so painful. I've never liked to use any of the teething tablets or anything to put on their gums. Our family likes to take a more natural approach when it comes to that kind of thing.
Being a firm believer and a doTERRA family we try using our oils whenever is possible.
Clove oils and lavender has been our lifesaver during this teething week. We do ten drops of clove, ten drops of lavender topped with fractionated coconut oil and bam! Into a roller blender and onto the jaw line.
It has helped us so much! That and letting H chew on freezing cold wash cloth :)

My Favorite Makeup Under Ten Dollars

Morning Lovies!

I am completely overwhelemed by this move. Geez! I say it every single time we move. NEVER. EVER. AGAIN. and here we are doing it. AGAIN. I know for this move it is completely nessacery for my husband and our family. So we i'm trying to be more excited than stressed.

Hayes is taking his morning nap and Addie Rivers is at school. Which means I have a little free time to get myself ready for the day, do a little blogging, and maybe a little laundry.

After having my first baby it took me at least a year to feel normal again. I was like most new moms. When I was pregant I pictured myself two weeks after the baby- wearing my skinny jeanas again, hair looking perfect, and makeup on point. YEAH RIGHT. For the first few months I didn't even want to change out of my pj's!

After I finally figured out that taking a little time for myself each morning made my day so much better, I made sure to make it a habit. Now I might have an entire can of dry shampoo in my hair and yoga pant on but at least I took five minutes for makeup.

I'm giving you guys my fave five products to use that are under ten dollars and you can find that at almost any drugstore.

1. E.L.F Tone Adjusting Primer- This stuff is great. It makes my skin feel so soft and really helps to even out my skin tones. $6

2. E.L.F Concealer- love this brand of concealer! I got the lightest shade but it is still a little darker than I wanted. It's so great to cover those dark under eye cirles this mama has. $3

3. E.L.F Under Eye Setting Powder- When I have time to, I love to contour my face but on the days I have about five minutes thats not really possible. This under eye setting powder really helps to brighten under the eyes even when not contouring.$3

4. E.L.F Bronzer Palette- I'm in love with this palette. It has four shades of bronzer which is again great for a fast simple contour method. $6

5. E.L.F Perfect Pink Lipstick- I always try to pull off a light pink lip but it is usually too much for me. This lipstick is more of a clear pink. It feels more like a chapstick which I love! $3

Thanks for stoppinf by!

All or Nothing

Happy Monday guys!

I'm sitting in our half packed up house, with a three year old at schoool for the morning, and a ten month old who won't take his morning nap. errr.

Even though I have had the blog for a couple of years in the past fews weeks I have gotten conected with so many fellow bloggers who are amazing and encouraging. It is such an awesome community to be a part of and for that I am so thannkful!

Just like every other person in the world I struggle daily with judging. Every morning and night as i'm praying one the the things I always pray for is to have an open heart and mind. To not judge people. and its hard. Judging is just in our nature. Even for the nicest person.

Judging- It's what brings me to the "all or nothing" post.
Can we please stop judging each other.
We are all guilty of it. Even if we try not to it happens.

I'm going to talk a minute about my journey with breastfeeding.
With my first baby I had every intention on nursing her for a year. I had no problem from day one. She was an excellent nurser. and then life happened.

Barrett and I had a trip planned to Kansas City before AR was born. We went when she was three months old. She stayed with Barrett's parents while we were gone and I was exclusively nursing. We had a ten hour car ride. Which means pumping every two hours in the car. Complete misery.

When we got back two days later she never skipped a beat. Right back to breastfeeding. Fast forward two months and we started  introducing formula for reasons I don't even remember. Probably because it was convenient.

By the time she was almost six months we had a trip planned to New York. A few weeks before we went we stopped breastfeeding. Again she stayed with family. Barrett and I had an amazing trip and we never looked back. I did go through days of feeling guilty for stopping. Sometimes when we would go out in public I would feed her before or in the car because of the giult of formula feeding.

When Hayes was born he was also an expert nurser from day one. Hayes was a "cluster feeder" geez it was every thirty minutes at first. At one month old I was exhausted. My sweet husband was so encouraging and helped me push through.

Hayes had awful reflux. It was only when he nursed. When he would have a pumped bottle he wouldn't spit up nearly as bad. We learned it was from my forcful letdown. For the first six months he was spit up pretty much ALL of his feeding. We were both changing clothes five times a day. Again we pushed through.

It wasn't until about eight months that he started crawling around the entire time he nursed. He would nurse for ten seconds and he done. I tried forcing him to nurse and it just got exhausting.
One morning I was trying to nurse him. He was all over the place- so not in to it. Barrett came in the room and said, "Babe he's done. Stop beating yourself up about it. IT'S OKAY TO STOP" I pumped for a little while and then we finally stopped.

Did I mention I was a complete over producer. Yep, I so could have been a "wet nurse" eek. JK.

So even though we are finished nursing, because I had so much milk this little dude is STILL getting breast milk from the freezer. We are doing both formula and breastmilk.

My whole point to this post. Can we please stop judging each other? When we see a mom formula feeding her two week old, let's not judge. Why dont we try encouraging. You nursed for two weeks? Thats awesome Mama!
When we see the mom nursing her two year old can we please not judge? Two years? That's amazing!
We never know what someone is going through.

It most certainly doesn't have to be all or nothing. If we are breastfeeding and formula feeding who cares!?

We use cloth diapers. Sometimes every day and sometime we will go weeks without using them. It just depends on what life is throwing our way. Again it doesn't have to be all or nothing. Do whatever you feel is best for your baby, and YOU. Being a happy mama is what it great for your baby.

We are ALL great mama's. NO matter what.
Formula, breastmilk, disposable, cloth, stay at home mamas, and working mamas.

Let's stop judging! Everything doesn't have to be all or nothing unless it comes to encouraging each other.
Let's try doing that ALL!

Fav Dry Shampoo's

Happy Tuesday
This morning we are gearing up for a play date. We are hosting our very last play date here in our Columbus home. It's defenitly bittersweet!

As a mom of two littles there is one thing I can't help but blog about.
Dry shampoo. Ladies, how on earth have I just started using this amazing invention.

Now of course I have heard of dry shampoo but I don't have awfully oily hair so I just never thouht it was really needed. I can usually go two days without a wash without dry shampoo. My hair is very thick and semi curly.

A couple of weeks ago I decided to pick up a thing of dry shampoo. I'm finally (after ten months) going to the gym regularly again. Dry shampoo is my lifesaver after the gym!

I have a couple of favorite brands. Now if you want a not so expensive dry shampoo I highly recommend the nym Clean Freak dry shampoo. You can find it at any drug store for roughly $7.00.
Also the Amika Dry shampoo. It is another one of my favs. It's not too expensive. Roughly $20.00
I think it's great! But if you using a can of dry shampoo every few days that twenty dollars might start to add up!

Thanks for stopping by!

about me

hey guys! its been a while since I have done am about me. Probably since the blog first launched. So this is for all you new readers!

My name is Ryann. Yes, like a boy name Ryan. Just has two n's. I am a 24 year old wife and mother. I'm married to Barrett and i have to say it's never boring. He still makes me laugh just like he did the first time we met.

We have three beautiful babies. One I gained when I met Barrett and he is just about as perfect as you can be. I met him at the sweet age of three. I couldn't have asked for a better big brother for our other two littles!

Addie Rivers is the definition of a three year old girl. SASSY SASSY SASSY. Daddy tells her on a daily basis that shes his favorite.
The best way to describe her is drama queen. The only girl in between two boys and she defenitly reminds us of that. While she might be dramamtic I know her strong willed tendencies will serve her well!

Our sweet "baby Hayes"
When people say there is something about a boy and his mama they arent kidding. This boy has his mamas heart! There isn't much that he gets upset about. He sleeps 12 hours at night and two great naps every day like its nobodies business.

My husband Barrett is a football coach and newly headmaster. We are excited about this new journey in our lives. We live in a small town in northern MS,about 40 miles from Memphis, TN

and lastly about me! I am a stay at home mom right now and I am SO thankful for that. I love getting to watch every second of my children grow. I started this blog when Addie Rivers was a baby. we were in a new town, i had a newborn, and a busy husband. I basically did it to keep my sanity! I didnt post very much at first but eventually I realized all of the passions I have can be put to good use through the blog. I have always loved fashion. In high school I wanted to be Lauren Conrad. (credit goes to the Hills!)
With the blog im able to pursue a form of my love for fashion along with all of the other things I love. Family, mama stuff, baby stuff, recipes etc.  My main goal is to just be real. I want to be able to show other mamas out there that we are all the same. Because at the end of the day we are in this together right?

Thanks for stopping by!

xoxo, Ryann

Weekend Vibes

Good Morning!

Our family has spent most of this morning being completely LAZY.
Two babes are napping(whoop whoop)and the other three of us are getting ready to go spend this gorgeous saturday outside!

Last weekend my parents were in town so my mom and I went out for a while and left the men and baby at home. We had a little fun with my camera and all of the awesome brick buildings downtown. It's totally normal for your mom to give you a photoshoot when she's in town right? Always will be my biggest fan!

The weather was amazing and I couldn't have loved this outfit more.

and how adorable is my little sidekick?

As a mom I have found such a love my wide chunky heels. They are the perfect cross between comfort and cuteness for this mama.

you can find a similar pair here

guess what!? they are on sale for $25.00!

It's saturday! you deserve to be lazy and online shop :)

Keeping our family healthy

Happy Wednesday!

We have been so busy the past few weeks. We are getting ready for our BIG move in just a couple of weeks. We are in the process of buying our new house, picking out paint colors(eek!) all while taking care of two babes.

One of my main mama goals is keeping my family as healthy as possible. We have been able to eliminate all of the junk from our house using DoTERRA's on guard line.

With on guard's cleaner we have been able to replace ALL of our daily cleaning products. Usually while I'm (trying) to clean I have a baby on my hip. I no longer have to shield myself or the baby from all of those crazy toxins in cleaners!

Best decision we have made was starting with DoTERRA. If you have ever been insteresred in trying essential oils please give me a shout!

Our Big News

Four- The number of years Barrett and I have been married.
Three- The number of Children we have.
Four- The number of years we have lived in Columbus.
Six- The number of houses we have lived in.

Seriously y'all. SIX DIFFERENT HOUSES. It's insane. We moved into our current house the beginning of November and I swore I was never moving again but guess what I was so wrong.

Long story short. We are moving. Barrett has taken a headmaster position. We are thrilled! To go from being an assistant football/history teacher to the head football coach/athletic director/ high school principal to headmaster is such a huge accomplishment!

I knew from day 1 that this is always a possibility. We have been in Columbus four years and it is very much home. Addie Rivers loves her preschool and friends. I have found the best group of friends. Our days are busy with school and play dates. Barrett is often busy with games and whatnot and I'm so thankful to have best friends that come over late afternoons to keep us company so we aren't alone until 11pm.

I love Columbus. But I love my husband more. The thought of starting over scares me to death but Barrett keeps reassuring me that, "as long as we are all together we will be happy." and he is exactly right.

We are excited and nervous. We are ready to fill our time with making new friends, making memories in a new house, and spending 60% of our time in Oxford. ha!

Here we come
HOLLY SPRINGS!

Cloth Diapers

Happy Sunday!

So yeah I lied. I totally intended to write this post yesterday but I'm dealing with a sick toddler. We are diffusing TONS of on guard right now. Praying the sickies will decide to leave our house by morning.

I wanted to write this post to explain a little about why we use our cloth diapers. When Hayes was born almost nine months ago I hadn't even given cloth diapers a thought. It wasn't until he was having bad diapers rashes that we couldn't keep away. He would get a rash, I would load him up with diaper rash cream and it would go away. A couple of days later he would have another one.

I started doing research and started buying the earths best or simple truth organic diapers and that really did help. Somehow i stumbled across cloth diapers. They kind of started to draw me in. I mean seriously have you looked at how cute they are!? After convincing my husband that 25.00 dollars for a diaper was worth it we started our cloth diaper journey!

At first I was overwhelmed. I was scared I was going to wash them wrong and ruin them. It only took a few days and we had the hang of it!

Cloth diapers are so much easier than most people think and in long run save SO much money. We average about 8 diapers a day and was every other day. We have roughly 30 diapers.

Now for all you EO mamas! This diaper spray is good for cloth or disposable diapers (which I might add we usually wear disposable to bed. H sleeps 12 hours and will leak right through cloth at night)

Essential Oil Diaper Spray Recipe-
(be sure to put this in a glass sprayer bottle. Can't use plastic with your oils!)
-15 Drops doTERRA Lavender Essential Oil
-15 Drop doTERRA Melaleuca Essential Oil
-about 15 drops doTERRA fractionated coconut oil
-Distilled water

I don't usually measure the coconut oils and water. Just enough to fill your bottle.

If you would like more info on cloth diapers OR doTERRA please contact me!

Blog Revamp

Happy Friday!
We are currently inside the house probably for the entire weekend. This mama is not a fan of the cold! Barrett got home from work early so him and Hayes are snoozing. AR is refusing to nap, or even "take a rest" for that matter. I've got dishes in the sink and about three loads of laundry that need to be done but this weather is making is impossible to get motivated to do anything but lay in bed.
I created this blog a few years ago as just a fun little hobby. It really has turned into something I LOVE doing! The blog started off as Pj's and Pancakes. When I started blogging for Pregnancy and Newborn magazine is when I realized what a stress reliever writing was. It's like I get a solid 30 minutes to escape from the mess of the house and right now the 36 degree weather outside.
I was trying to figure out which direction I wanted the blog to go in. I love blogging about my family. I mean honestly what mom doesn't love posting a million pictures of her babes? But I also wanted it to be about something I love (after my babies!) and that brings me to Diaper Laundry and Lipgloss. The revamped Fashion/Lifestyle blog.

I have always loved fashion. Like most girls do!
It makes me so excited to follow fellow mama bloggers doing the same thing they are passionate about. I'm so excited to start(restart) my blogging journey and to blog about ALL of the things I'm obsessed with. babies.hubby.clothes.food

Now back to the name Diaper Laundry and Lipgloss. I'm sure some people read it and say? UM she left out the S in diapers! but the truth is there is no S. Yep Diaper Laundry. Some people might be trying to figure out what in the world Diaper Laundry is. Any of you other cloth diaper mamas will know. If you would have told me a year ago i would try cloth diapering I would have laughed in your face. I LOVE our cloth. super cuter prints and much easier than most people thing.
Tomorrow I will be writing a post about our cloth diaper journey, how often we use them and an EO diaper spray recipe!

xoxo--
